Inland Fishing

The rivers in and around the stunning scenery of the Preseli Hills offer the visiting game angler varying locations to fish for salmon and sea trout that run the rivers Nevern, Western and Eastern Cleddau and the Tâf, in season.

Each of these rivers, especially in their upper reaches, is also the home of beautifully marked wild brown trout that share their aquatic domain with the otter and other small mammals. Truly superb, interesting and challenging fishing opportunities are available in the quiet of the rambling countryside.

For the still water game enthusiast there is boat or bank fishing on reservoirs and an array of small water fisheries.

Natural Resources Wales is responsible for maintaining, improving and developing inland fisheries in England and Wales.

To fish in Pembrokeshire’s lakes, ponds or rivers you must hold a valid national rod licence and adhere to the byelaws for the particular fishery and fish species concerned. Follow the links below for further information.

Top Tips

  • The Fishing Wales website has an online search tool for fisheries in Wales.
